Area III Young Riders Camp

Area III Young Riders Camp

Area III Young Riders

Majestic Oaks will be hosting the Area III Young Rider Camp. This is a benefit for the Young Rider Program, but it is not limited to just Young Riders. In other words, all of the Adult Riders who wish to attend camp, please join us – you are more than welcome to participate!

For 2023, we have an enriching program planned. The camp dates are June 8th – 11th, 2023. Also, to participate you need to be a member of USEA and Area III Young Rider or Adult Rider program.

The camp requires all riders to show proof they have completed a minimum of 1 three-phase event at the level they wish to ride in at camp. This can be a recognized horse trial or a schooling show. In short, this helps ensure that riders are capable of what they sign up for to participate in at camp.

What to expect?

Camp days will include riding as well as an educational lecture each day. Lectures will cover horsemanship skills and knowledge. Such as show jumping design, veterinary knowledge, grooming, and pressure proofing yourselves.

2023 Camp Instructors

We are pleased to announce our instructors for camp. If entries warrant, the camp will add additional instructors.

Ashley Johnson – Originally from New Jersey, Ashley Johnson has been based in Area III for fifteen years. She runs a breeding, training and sales business out of her own farm in Ocala, FL. Ashley is a 5* eventing rider but also competes in straight jumpers and dressage. She is a graduate ‘A’ pony clubber, an ICP (now ECP) Level IV coach, an ‘r’ eventing judge, and a technical delegate who actively officiates. Furthermore, she is the coach of the University of Florida Eventing Team. Johnson takes pride in developing each of her students with a strong physical and mental foundation.

Lauren Eckardt – Lauren has been the head trainer at Bigtime Eventing and Dressage since 2008. She is an Advanced level rider in Eventing, rode on the Two Star (now Three Star) NAYRC 2001 team, has achieved her Bronze, Silver, and Gold Medals in Dressage, and was long-listed for the 2004 Olympics.
