A Dream That Became a Premier Equestrian Destination
Every great venue begins with a dream, and Majestic Oaks Ocala is no exception.
What started as a lifelong passion for horses has grown into one of Florida’s premier equestrian facilities. Owners Ron and Marisa DiMauro built Majestic Oaks with a simple vision: create a welcoming destination where riders of all ages and skill levels can learn, compete, and enjoy the sport they love.
Today, Majestic Oaks is a year-round equestrian venue located in Reddick, Florida, between Ocala and Gainesville, in the heart of the Horse Capital of the World.
The Story Behind the Owners
Ron DiMauro’s journey to Majestic Oaks has been anything but ordinary.
Originally born in Omaha, Nebraska, and raised in Hawaii, Ron built a diverse career that included owning a trucking company, operating a wood manufacturing business, managing an almond orchard, owning golf retail stores, and working in residential construction. Along the way, he developed a passion for agriculture, horses, and building successful businesses.
His wife, Marisa DiMauro, enjoyed a distinguished career in education as both a teacher and an award-winning school administrator. Together, they shared a love of horses and a dream of becoming part of Florida’s thriving equestrian community.
While traveling to Florida to care for family, the DiMauros discovered Ocala and immediately fell in love with the area’s natural beauty, horse culture, and welcoming community. That discovery would change their lives forever.
The Beginning of Majestic Oaks
In August 2017, Ron and Marisa purchased what is now Majestic Oaks Ocala from Equiventures, whose owner, Richard Trayford, had previously hosted horse trials, schooling shows, and clinics on the property.
Soon after purchasing the farm, the DiMauros immersed themselves in Florida’s eventing community. With guidance from longtime show secretary Nancy Russell and support from countless riders, trainers, officials, and volunteers, they began building the foundation for the future of Majestic Oaks.
In early 2018, Majestic Oaks received its first USEA license. Although time constraints prevented hosting a recognized event that season, the facility successfully welcomed approximately 140 competitors to its first schooling show. By 2019, Majestic Oaks had earned licenses to host multiple USEA-recognized horse trials, marking the beginning of its continued growth as an equestrian destination.
A Commitment to Continuous Improvement
Since acquiring the property, Ron and Marisa have remained committed to investing in both the facility and the rider experience.
Enhancements have included:
- Expanded cross-country course from Starter through Preliminary levels
- Professional show jumping arena with fiber footing
- New stadium and cross-country jumps
- Additional stalls and rider amenities
- Ongoing facility improvements throughout the property
Every improvement is made with one goal in mind: providing a safe, enjoyable, and professionally maintained environment for horses and riders.
Built for the Equestrian Community
Majestic Oaks is more than an equestrian event venue—it’s a community.
From recognized horse trials and schooling shows to clinics, daily schooling, and special events, the facility exists because of the riders, trainers, volunteers, officials, and spectators who continue to support it.
The DiMauros are especially grateful for the many individuals who helped establish Majestic Oaks, including Nancy Russell, John Williams, Cyndi Kurth, USEA and USEF officials, local trainers, clinicians, volunteers, and countless members of Florida’s eventing community whose encouragement and expertise have helped shape the venue into what it is today.
